I didn't know but it seems we had another "movie" to start this new arc. We got to know Rengoku's family, surprisingly Rengoku Sr is even more annoying in real life. This Sound Hashira guy... I think I already like him, even though he is SUS!

To me, this ep shows extremely well how good anime VAs are and how much that adds to a show. This is only the second time Rengoku's brother talks but his VA makes the meeting/tea scene so emotional. Also, every first and last ep now is ~40min. I find it to be one of thier best decisions since it allows the starts and ends to arcs to be more natural and less rushed.

You're absolutely right, that was an excellent decision, normally we're always at the mercy of cliffhangers, but with this format not so much, very clever to start and end a season like this! And yeah Senjuro's VA and gestures are on point.
