hey luke just a heads up for future reactions , some people will try to tell you that pitou is a male , they are not wrong but also not correct , pitou is represented in a more masculie manner in the manga but is represented in a more feminine manner in the anime , and the auther has never confirmed its gender , its pretty common among most viewrs to consider pitou a female in the anime but a male in the manga.

From what I remember Pitou always uses the male version of "I" - Boku/Ore, and that's why I personally refer to them as he.

They can be good on funny or lackluster moments aswell like the titanic flute on a character gettin their ass handed to them in a silly fashion but never to be used on dramatic or serious moments it undercuts the entire tone of the experience.

When you think about it, technically all of the ants (aside from the queen and arguably later the king) have no concept of gender. I don't even think they have real sexual organs and only have secondary characteristics from the humans that got eaten, so every one of them is just an educated guess (with most being easy to categorise). Pitou's just the most ambiguous example and the use of "boku" (which doesn't have to be gendered) is more to express her childish personality than anything else.

in the manga is unknown, while in the manga IT IS female, just like hanje in shingeki no kyojin is male in the manga but it is female in the anime

With how much you've been enjoying Hunter x Hunter, I would love to see your reaction to Yu Yu Hakusho, Togashi's earlier series. To this day it's my all time favorite anime. And it's gotta be dubbed too, they did an amazing job with it.

i see your guys points and understand them completely , but please check out the body shape and looks for the manga and anime versions of pitou and compare , in the manga it has much broader shoulders with the body of a lean male and netural looking face . now copared to the anime which has an hourglass shaped body with feminen features like emphesis on the breast , and a feminine face , it is clearly meant to look like a girl and in my book in the anime alone should be refered as a she , but generally it is genderless.

Luke, please disable sound alerts during the rest of this arc. There is some happiness and comedy that doesn't disappear completely, but this IS the darkest arc in HxH (thus far) so the sound alerts will be pointless and a distraction for 98% of the streams. -
