Movies like this with so many great lines must be murder to edit for a Youtube reaction. Good job! much of the character development in this was done in previous movies...It also shows why there's some adult humor in a "kid's Christmas movie". as there's some running gags that have been going on since "Vacation." that continue through the series. You do now have a good primer on Clark and his family and "cousin Eddie" for any others you watch. BTW National Lampoon was a comedy magazine that branched out into film and TV. This was original a Hughes short story in their magazine. And good call on Bill Murray's older brother as the boss! Looks just like him. This one's a Christmas classic and I don't think a year's gone by I haven't seen it at least once. "Squirrrrrrrrrrellllll!!!!"

The old movie they are watching is the classic It's a Wonderful Life, with James Stewart (Vertigo, Rear Window). If you watch it, make sure you get the black and white version and not the horrible colorized version.

"Squirrrrrrellllllll!!" thank you I finally understand the great National Lampoon mystery I have been wondering about that for ages now. There was so much comedic value to this film that both adults and kids could enjoy and I loved it so much!
