I'm actually shocked at how good this was. I thought they'd lean even harder into the humor, but thankfully they leaned harder into everything and the story was incredible!

The whole deal with Cable in the comics is that while the whole basic concept behind him is awesome, somehow no writer has ever been able to make good use of him and he just comes off as a pouty emo bastard despite having some very real things to be upset about. So this movie completely leans into that reputation by pairing him with a guy who refuses to take anything seriously, and they work great together.

That's amazing. I love that they took a cool villain that didn't totally work in the past and made such an amazing pairing. I also really love that they added to the first film, like going into the third I fully expect to see all of these characters back again and that's really cool.
