The music truly made this film! Plenty of laughter and good times as we follow these brothers and their mission from God.

This held the record for the most cars destroyed in a single movie, until it was beaten by its own sequel (which you seriously shouldn't bother with; the loss of John Belushi clearly completely deflated the effort anyone was willing to put into it, and it spends most of its time just doing worse copies of scenes from the original like a proto-Hangover 2). And it really is something to watch the whole movie knowing it was before CGI could do all this stuff. In particular, the Nazis' car really was carried that high by a helicopter and dropped.

(Also can never drive past the Richard J. Daley center without thinking "THAT'S WHERE THEY GOT THAT PICASSO")

Chris! I *never* noticed this joke (seen this roughly 106 times) until you pointed it out. Belushi saying Stand by Your Man is a favorite of the horns section...and it has no horns in it. Cheers, Chris, for making a classic even better! 👍

haha well, I wasn't sure if it was a joke that way or nor because what country music does have horns in it? Either way, I found it amusing.

Such great music in this movie! Also, there is the theme from the Peter Gunn TV show (1958-1961). It's about 30:00 in the movie when the boys arrive at Elwood's apartment building.

Curious that the Peter Gunn theme and the theme from the 60's Secret Agent show are both overused pieces of movie music, recognized by EVERYONE, while the shows are (sadly) forgotten.
