It's been a while, but the modeler I'm working with got back to me with another update on Koloss.  The final details are starting to get hammered out, which means he'll be ready for the rigging phase likely by tomorrow.

To my glee, Koloss is turning out EXCELLENTLY.  I absolutely adore the style he came up with, and the fact that Koloss now looks like an actual 3D translation to Calico's reference work.  Even better is the fact that the bullet harness, rockets and armor pieces are all detachable, meaning Koloss can basically rock his very first look if I wanted him to.  Which also works great for when he gulps prey down and sports a huge gut for his efforts.  ;)

He also provided a look at the mouth since I hadn't yet seen that.  The actual inner jaw hasn't been created yet, but he said that he's going to work on that next before finalizing everything and beginning the rigging process.  The sheer shape and overall look of the character is just absolutely spot on.  Words cannot express how stoked I am to see this model in action once the job is finished.  First, I'll have to import it properly since I believe it'll be a FBX file.  From there, I'll be experimenting on my end to see what can be done with the model.

It's craaaazy to think how far it's come since it started in December.  It's like a complete night and day development process, and it's left me oh so eager each time this extremely talented modeler contacts me.

For those wondering, next up is actually just a base model for Koloss' goons.  As I said, I'm toying with the idea of turning HISS into a video game.  And that requires enemy NPC's to beat up.  :P
