What is the Value of Frost Spider Silk?
The next morning, I visited the Trade Guild to meet with Alizée.
Meeting Alizée was easy, but things got busy from there.
When I showed her the Frost Spider Silk, even Alizée looked puzzled and began examining it in detail with a magnifying glass for appraisal.
After confirming the details, she emphasized that no one should speak of this and immediately went to call Priscilla.
Is this fabric really that amazing?
Priscilla, who entered the room, also seemed quite flustered, so it must be quite an extraordinary fabric.

"Lily, where did you get this?"

"Errm, Talat evolved. That's how he was able to produce new silk, and I made this from that silk."

"Talat... come to think of it, Talat's color has changed. What kind of monster has it become?"

"It's a Frost Silk Spider."

"Frost Silk Spider... I know of Frost Spiders, but I've never heard of a Frost Silk Spider. Alizée, please go to the Adventurers' Guild and the Tamers' Guild immediately to investigate about Frost Silk Spiders."

"Understood. I'll go now."

Alizée left as instructed by Priscilla.
What kind of situation have I found myself in?

I asked Priscilla about the monster called Frost Spider, and it seems like quite a troublesome monster.
It inhabits only snowy mountains and generally lives in caves.
The problem lies in its nature; any place hit by its silk freezes without exception.
The silk itself is made of sturdy ice and cannot be melted even by fire.
It attacks by shooting these icy threads, and even a single one is ranked as upper Copper-rank for subjugation.
When in a group of three or more, it's Silver-rank, meaning you should run rather than fight.
The only relief is that it mainly lives in freezing cold environments and won't attack unless provoked by invading its habitat.
It seems impossible for humans to live in a place where such powerful monsters reside.
Additionally, the Frost Spiders seem to have a kind side and may protect other wild animals.
Investigation hasn't progressed due to the impossibility of winning against them if attacked, but it appears to protect and live with animals that inhabit snowy areas.
It's quite an enigmatic monster.

After a while, Alizée returned with the Guildmaster of the Adventurers' Guild, Roland, the Submaster Ode, and the Submaster of the Tamers' Guild, Tommy.
The Guildmaster of the Tamers' Guild was apparently away on business and couldn't make it.
After examining various fabrics together, they concluded that this fabric has never been circulated in the world before.
In other words, it seems to be an unknown fabric.

"Well, this is troubling. As long as Lily is here, this fabric can be reproduced, but..."

"We don't know its market value. Moreover, if it circulates further in the market, its origin will be traced. Lady Lily’s safety will be definitely at risk."

"As the Adventurers' Guild, we want a sample, but... would be just having it with us a problem?"

"As for the Tamers' Guild, we're more interested in the species, the Frost Silk Spiders, than the fabric itself. We'd like to have a detailed discussion with Lily another day."

Ultimately, it was decided not to sell the Frost Spider Silk.
Hmm, I thought a new product had emerged, but it didn't quite work out.
A bit disappointing.
