I should probably really put some thought nd planning into executing this series of people underwater with fabric.  No one shoots this kind of shot quite the way i do, but I never plan out means to secure the fabric in a way that makes it easier for the model to just worry about looking relaxed and not have to worry about helping me manage the fabric all the time.  Maybe it lends itself to a beautiful sort of mess that makes the photos more memorable, but it also means I am just shooting a bunch and hoping a couple shots come out with the elements all aligned in a aesthetically pleasing way.

As Gen was pretty great at controlling her buoyancy we were able to do some pretty cool stuff with the fabric, so most of the shots are of her. I don't work with many models that have that particular body type - long and slender. Usually I assume they would look better in clothes than out of them. Maybe I am wrong about this though?  Working with Gen nude, I found a certain grace to grace to her, like a praying mantis.  Her angles and firmness were a nice counterpoint to the fluidity inherent in the rest of the scenario. I never can get over the effect of it all - the light caustics dancing over taught skin, the shimmer of the fabrics, and the endless unpredictable drifting movement of myself, the model, the fabric, and the water.  Even if I never make a great image doing this deficiently planned technique, I will still enjoy so many of the results.
