Quest Fronts #2 has just been released and we are very excited about it. This release coincides with the 4th anniversary of Ludic Pen. Thank you all for your continuous support!

All current patrons will be receiving digital copies in their DriveThruRPG mailboxes. Enjoy!

More adventure starters based on Ironsworn with universal compatibility instructions

The second installment of the Quest Fronts magazine further develops the design philosophy of Dungeon World campaign fronts and the elegant mechanics of Ironsworn for quests. This system-agnostic supplement takes the best of both to offer you adventure starters that can be played in the role-playing game of your preference. Whether you are a solo player or a game master, these modules will inspire your imagination to play and tell compelling stories in a grim fantasy world.

Differences from issue #1

  • More distinct, grittier illustrations and layout art
  • More quest fronts (from 7 to 20) and universal bestiary entries (from 1 to 7)
  • More oracles (from 4 to 49) taken from Ironsworn: Delve and Starforged, adapted for fantasy settings
  • Improved threat mechanic; the campaign clocks taken from Ironsworn: Starforged
  • Quests dealing with natives of these lands (elves, simulacrums) and horrors (wraiths, werewolves, vampires, undead)
  • Intertextuality; references of diegetic elements between quests, from this issue and the previous one

In Quest Fronts #2...

  • Low fantasy quests: The daily conflicts for survival in these lands remain an obstacle to living in peace. Although we have put aside our differences in human coexistence, some seek to tame creatures that seem unnatural, and others to unravel the secrets left behind by past civilizations. This brings problems of a greater nature than we have dealt with in the past.
  • Dark fantasy quests: Our deepest fears have materialized because of cultists' actions, or because of our curiosity unravelling the forbidden. Now, horrors coexist in our world. The threats are no longer merely skirmishes over resources or ownership of old sacred relics, but the supernatural permeates our lands and rages against humanity.
