Happy New Year!

Well, 2019 is over (for two days already, time flies!) and I am not great with reminiscing over what was. I have the bad habit of not seeing the things I achieved and only see what I failed to finish.

But, even though I am critical of myself, I'll try to be kinder with myself from now on. This is probably the only thing that I'll call my resolution for the new year. Be kind, stay calm, do things for myself. Don't beat myself up about things I failed or how I might've interacted with others (or failed to interact).

Art wise I just want to find myself. I know what I like to do but I am struggling with how others perceive my art as well as with what would be popular. I am planning to do more of these critter portraits because I like the style and they are so much fun to do. And they don't take up as much space as the dolls do. I might do a few dolls this year, but they will probably be more elaborate, to experiment, and not to just make dolls. I need to be careful with the bit of space that I have.

Since 2020 is the year of the rat (or mouse, apparently) I drew this rat knight. She will take on the New Year and is my inspiration to keep on battling, whatever may come.
I hope your start into the New Year was exactly how you pictured it, festive or quiet, and I hope this rat lady will motivate you as much as she does motivate me.
