HI Scott - I have completed CAGED basics and, among other things, am working on developing proficiency with the 5 basic chords shapes as moveable shapes on the fretboard. I find that the C shape, A shape and E shape (as moveable bar chords) are coming along nicely. However the full G and the D shaped bar chords are proving much tougher….hard on the hands! Should I just use partial forms for these shapes, or stick with it until I develop the required technique?

PS - I am playing an acoustic guitar
