We all have to start from somewhere right??

These were not enjoyable for me. Dated and uninspiring bsides although the title tracks certainly have presence. It's clear JYP as a company did not have a specific sound ready for TWICE early on but I'm so GLAD they certainly found their footing as they grew.

I'm looking forward to seeing the growth for sure.

Enjoy!

I'm really happy you're doing their discography bc Twice has gems! Half of these songs I love but their is a nostalgia factor for me because I grew up listening to these as a teen lmao. But thank you for checking these out!

yay more twice!! not sure if you knew, but twice was formed off of a survival show and most of the songs off their debut ep were written for the show specifically. this could be the reason why there doesn't seem to be a very cohesive, sonic direction that fits the image we know twice to have today because the songs were written for a group whose members weren't even established yet. I'm excited for you to check out their next albums where they start to define their sound. thanks for the reaction!

I just checked out the songwriter(s) list on these 2 EPs. Truly a grab bag of familiar names all over the place. Probably a bunch of discarded/shopped-around songs (obtained for a reality show, as poster above mentioned). The 2 singles, which truly helped launch their career, are great though. TMI: They are the works of Black Eyed Pilseung (BEP), who also produced the next 2 singles, TT & Likey. I bring this up because I know you like StayC's albums, and BEP are also the ones behind them. Rado (of BEP) is the one you see directing the StayC girls in their behind recording videos. I honestly love BEP's music and you can clearly hear the similarity behind Twice's early songs & StayC songs.

It is definitely jarring to say the least to her such songs for Twice when you aren't familiar with much of their earlier eps but it is interesting to hear the way Momo got to sing in a register that might be better suited for her voice and just overall the way their singing abilities evolved along the way. Looking forward to discovering their discography with this series

I loved your rv deep dive and I’m soooo happy you’re doing it with twice now!!! I also abhor most of the songs in the beginning of their career 😭but the choreos for do it again and touchdown are some of my favorite twice choreos because they’re just so fun and suit the song so well. Btw red velvet actually debuted more than a year before twice (rv debuted august 2014 and twice debuted oct 2015) so it could be why the quality is so different but I think it’s due to what everyone above is saying and what you said that they just didn’t know what to do with them but I’m glad they found the style that suits them because their taste of love EP is truly one of the best EP’s (in my opinion anyways) and every song in that EP is written by a member! Except for the tt (alcohol free)

do you plan on reacting to their killing voice?
